Description

This course emphasizes the study of the commonly used pesticides in weed and insect control in agriculture. This course is designed to give students an understanding of the principles of pest management in the use of agricultural chemicals. Emphasis on common weed and insect pests, characteristics of pesticides, their safe use, labeling, regulations, and equipment calibration. Agricultural chemical use has been an adopted practice to improve the yield and quality of a crop for many years. This course will prepare students to take the Private Pesticide Applicator's examinations for Kansas certification.
